The joys of modern-day cheap air travel. After an indecently early start yesterday I was strolling through passport control at a sunny Geneva airport, and just 10 minutes or so later was being checked into the Press and VIP day at the new Geneva Classics show. As easy as that, as just as simple for the return trip later that day, arriving back to a wet and windy UK.

You can read our thoughts on the show below, for anyone considering going I would recommend it. Don’t expect hall after hall à la the Techno Classic at Essen, but there is quality in abundance and the close proximity to Geneva’s airport, train station and city centre a very definite plus. If you like Rivas, Spitfires and 300 SL ‘Gullwings’ - this is the show for you.

We’ve a full run-down on the action at the Paris Motor Show this week, I think I might pass on the ‘His-and-Hers suitcases in matt-black calfskin with a Greek fret motif and a white satin interior’ that go with the Versace limited edition Lamborghini LP 640, but I would, like so many others, put a deposit on the Alfa 8C Competitizione.
