Editorial

Back on dry land again from the previous week’s exploits on the Italian Riviera, there was just time to slip into the driving seat of a Ferrari 275 GTB and set course for Tyringham Hall last Sunday where a marvellous collection of cars was assembled in perfect English late-summer sun.

A good time was had by all, and you can read about it below (I have to say the photographer excelled himself, although with the weather, setting and automotive content it would take a very large thumb inadvertently placed over the lens to spoil the results).

It’s off to Geneva next week, to what sounds like an interesting event held at the PALEXPO, the exhibition site within walking distance of the airport. We’ve a short preview in this week’s ClassicInside, as well as a full run-down of the auction to be held on the 7th, a sale that includes boats, motorcycles and aeroplanes as diverse as a 1941 North American B-25 ‘Mitchell’ medium bomber.

Try getting that back through security at Heathrow. A review of this, as well as news from the 2006 Paris Motor Show, to appear in next week’s edition.
