Editorial

I’m retiring to the editorial Oculas (What!? – see our ‘Classic Life’ feature below) for a couple of Fridays so this will be the last ClassicInside until after the unlikely event of dust being allowed to settle on the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and accompanying jollifications at Monterey next week.

We’ve amalgamated all auction and event previews in one article so do click on the link to see what’s happening and when, and a preview of all the saleroom action that promises to be even more multi- than usual (on the $US million front, that is).

This week has seen your editor conducting an extraordinary 1,200 kms day trip in a singular car, as well as running out for sandwiches in a Ferrari 288 GTO and viewing at close hand a potential winner of the forthcoming Goodwood Revival Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration and the restoration specialists who have done such a good job preparing it.

For all of this, and much more I hope, including early reviews of Monterey 2006, catch up with ClassicInside on Friday 25th August.

Until then, wishing you all a restful summer holiday.

Maserati Quattroporte - The First Incarnation
