Editorial

A slightly shorter week as it’s Easter, but I hope there’s something of interest for everyone.

The European classic car show bar none, Techno Classica at Essen, has been and gone, and once more it’s proved to be head and shoulders above anything else in terms of interest and quality of exhibits. I didn’t go this year but we have a brief report and a great photo-gallery. You can see how highly regarded the show is by the extent of manufacturer involvement from VAG, BMW, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo et al.

One date very much in my diary is the first round of the FIA GT series at Silverstone next month, The Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy. You’ll remember last year was the time Aston Martin scored a one-two, despite constant pressure from Maserati, Ferrari and Corvette. This year the competition’s got even hotter and the weekend, labelled a ‘Supercar Showdown’, will commence with a run for road cars similar to those actually racing on the track, from the heart of London’s clubland to the Northampton circuit. A great deal for driver and passenger that includes tickets and special treatment over the weekend.

Full details below, it’s a good idea and, practising what we preach, one we’ll be taking up in one of Maserati’s latest Quattroporte models.

A very enjoyable Spring break to all of you.
