Editorial

I like the Freestream T1. It’s a project from some of the team who worked on the McLaren F1 (still the benchmark for unadulterated performance in your author’s opinion), and the two-seater when it sees the light of day, rather than the devilishly clever CAD projections you will see below, should make a lot of niche manufacturers think on.

£150,000 is a lot of loot in anyone’s language, but given the fact you’re just as much likely to use it as any number of cars costing £100,000 more, it sounds a pretty good deal to me. I like the way the company will be limiting production to just ‘25 cars a year for the entire planet’. That’s ambition for you, they have clearly made contact with outer space and have a Venusian order book to service too.

I thought the 2.4 litre V8 sounded a bit weedy until of course I realised that this year’s Formula One World Championship is for that paltry capacity. So hats off to the men at Freestream for a clever bit of brand association.
