Editorial

A very Happy New Year to all of you. After the quiet holiday period it’s all action stations with two motor shows in the US (Los Angeles and the big NAIAS in Detroit) prompting the manufacturers to issue a raft of new models. Who’d have thought 2006 would see not only a four-door Aston Martin but also a modern look at the Miura?

They are both strictly concepts of course…but given the success of a) the ‘new’ Ford GT, and b) the Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur, they have to be more than even money projects to make it into production. The British car has been in the public domain for the last few days and has already created tremendous interest and discussion, we can’t wait for the ‘reveal’ on Monday to see more details on this one – keep in touch with Classic Driver for all the latest news.

And if you can’t build a completely new car (or concept) why not take an existing model and make it into the ‘most powerful car in the xxx market’? There’s news of the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG and Porsche Cayenne S below.

Don’t forget to put the Goodwood dates in your shiny new 2006 diary, both events are going to be good ones again.

Until next week.
