The picture above is one you don’t see every day - some $3.5 million of Ferrari Enzos climbing the winding road out of Florence towards the Mugello circuit, set high in the Tuscan hills. All this happened some weeks ago, as we reported then, but today we’re including the driving impressions of the 612 Scaglietti used on the trip. You can read all about it below, and notice the moderate use of revs on the big V12 please.

So Audi will be making the R8, the production model being based on the ‘Le Mans quattro’ concept of a year or so ago. Hats off to Audi for capitalising on their fantastic run of success on-track, although I cannot help feel it may end up an oddity in the VW/Audi premier marque range. You’ve got Bentley and Lamborghini doing the super-exotic stuff, while the Ingolstadt marque makes the world’s most desirable fast saloons and estates. So speaks someone who never liked the TT, and thinks the new A6 Avant the most perfect ‘daily driver’, so perhaps I’m biased.

A Gallardo and an RS4 - that sounds more like it, and they’ve sold two cars to boot.

As you read this I shall be at the MPH05 show at Earls Court in London, with a very yellow Ferrari on our stand - I hope to see some of you there.
