Somebody had to do it, and it was Classic Driver Hamburg staff writer Jan Baedeker that was entrusted with testing the BMW M6, taking it for a cross-border excursion into Denmark, and clearly experiencing the 507 HP engine to the full. Like other road tests of the M6 (and M5), the car’s characteristics are dramatically changed by opting for the full ‘M’ (for ‘Monty’ perhaps?) treatment, actuated by simply pressing the POWER button.

It’s a blisteringly fast car that can obviously do all the comfortable stuff as well, and is only lacking a badge from a manufacturer a notch higher in the automotive pecking order. And the electronically-limited top speed is a bit tedious - we all know it would easily crack 300 km/h unfettered. Despite all that, a magnificent car.

If you think you know a lot about cars, then who’s heard of the Lamborghini ‘400GT Monza’? Ah-ha, thought not! Well the one-off car has been unearthed having been in storage for the last 35 years or so and will be auctioned in very original condition later in the year. There’s a great story about how it came to being, and its first wealthy owner - you can read it all below.

And for those people who really feel they do have everything, check out the visit we made to the Vertu luxury mobile ’phone company the other day. With up to 388 individual pieces, and extensive use of precious metals they truly are the equivalent of a ‘Grand Complication’ timepiece.
