Editorial

Well I did warn you last week - there’s an awful to do at this time of year, and last weekend saw frantic action in the UK with returnees from the Tour Auto popping up at race circuits in England over our long holiday weekend. You’ve got to hand it to the guy who’s just finished driving the length and breadth of La Belle France (including many races en route) in an AC Cobra, and then spends two days circuit racing ‘big-banger’ sports prototypes in Historic meetings in Britain. It’s a tough life for some.

Our Austrian representative, Heinz Swoboda, was covering the Tour for us, and you can see the results of his photographic handiwork in this issue.

The next important weekend on the agenda is the 14/15th May, and any blue-blooded racing enthusiast can choose between the much anticipated European debut of the DBR9 at Silverstone, or the wonderful "Grand Prix de Pau Historique" in France. And then there’s the start of the Monaco GP week soon afterwards, with big classic car auctions in the Principalité. I shall be at Silverstone, carefully filing Pau in the ‘must do that next year’ section, and we preview Bonhams Europe’s sale below.

What, no road car news, I hear you say? Don’t blame me, the manufacturers are busy delivering the product that we have been writing about so assiduously over the last few months, and we’ll have to wait awhile for new developments. As always, I hope you can rely on us to tell you all about it.
