Editorial

Well it’s an important week ahead for the luxury car sector. Geneva is always the really big one, and this year’s show is unlikely to disappoint. Quite possibly the car of the show will be the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage, due to be unveiled to the press on Monday evening, with authorised photos and information available to the world-at-large the following day. And don’t forget Bentley will have the new Continental Flying Spur in the metal for the first time, while Ferrari’s F430 is still a new car that will be debuted in ‘Spider’ format at Geneva.

There’s also a plethora of machinery with the ‘S’ suffix, Aston having started it all with the high-performance version of the Vanquish and now Lamborghini catalogue a ‘Concept S’, Maybach a ‘57 S’ and Pagani (just to be different) a Zonda ‘F’. Oh for the days of dictating copy down a crackly ‘phone line - you could get in a real mix-up with these.

Just to show we like to give you something different every week, please have a look at the Stockinger Safe article. It’s more fantastic stuff for the dreams of every self-respecting Classic Driver. Let’s hope it doesn’t encourage some of you cyber-safe-crackers to dust down the stethoscope and ‘gelly’, and come out of retirement for ‘one last job’ to finance a new addition to the garage.
