Difficult to kick off this week’s Classic Inside without mentioning
last week’s Goodwood Revival. The weather was quite extraordinarily
hot and this, combined with exciting racing, air displays and quality
trade stands made for another memorable event. Friday’s auction
made headlines in Saturday’s national press for the colossal
figure achieved by the 1929 Mercedes SSK - full details below.
There’s also news on some updates of two popular modern cars,
the Audi A4 and Porsche Boxster. Of the two, Audi’s appears
the more extensive, adopting the new family grille and very latest
Ingolstadt engines.
It’s not normal editorial policy to comment on our dealer’s
cars for sale but I hope by including in this week’s edition
a Maserati for around £22,000 and an original D-Type for $2,200,000
we can proudly say we have the most extensive - but not always the
most expensive - selection of cars in the world. If you add in the
Bentley S2 Continental you have a daily driver (Maserati), a car
for the 2005 Goodwood Revival ‘Sussex Trophy’ (D-Type)
and a car to park in that meeting’s exclusive paddock (Bentley).
What more can you ask for?
