A plethora of things to do in the UK this weekend. Those two most aristocratic of car clubs, the Bentley Drivers, and Aston Martin Owners, are holding simultaneous events some 30 miles apart on Saturday, while, for the whole of the weekend, Donington plays host to the FIA GT Championship, a chance to see some real Le Mans cars in action over three hours of racing on Sunday. Very much a Ferrari affair now of course, and jolly good too say I - proof that life does exist for the company beyond F1.

Difficult to know which one to choose on Saturday. Hatfield House is the setting for the Bentley meeting, their annual Summer Rally and Concours d'Elegance. Last time I went to a BDC event there we were treated to the sight of an ex-Bentley Motors biplane taking off in the field next door to the cars and participants being 'buzzed', much to the delight of all concerned. Silverstone, on the other hand, is home to the AMOC's annual St John Horsfall race meeting, which this year includes a race for significant 'team-type' cars such as the DB3S - of which there are plenty entered. Needless to say the Club will also put on various static displays of the company's finest offerings over the years.

For sheer diversity the BDC would have it, with the astonishing variations in cars and bodywork produced over the decades at Cricklewood, Derby and Crewe. But then again there is the AMOC on-track excitement, and perhaps the chance to 'do' both meetings?

Whatever you decide, enjoy yourself - we'll be at the Horsfall and Donington, full report from all the action next week.

Ferrari 288 GTO

- Racing seat belts (4 mountings)
- Fire extinguisher equipment
- Numberplate MO 846288 (Modena)
- Mileage 9616 km (run by Ferrari test drivers only)
- The car is full original and its conditions are as for collectors

Infos from Ferrari:
272 Ferrari GTO have been produced over the years, but this GTO is not included in that number, therefore it's an unique specimen!

After the 272 cars were built and sold, Ferrari still had 4 prototypes; 2 were completely destroyed during safety crash tests, 1 was disassembled and sold as spare parts to a customer who had his car burned out, the last is this one and it is very likely to be the very first 288 GTO Ferrari ever made!

This car, after long negotiations, has been totally restored by Ferrari and sold to a dealer in Modena for a very important customer.
