This edition is sent to 5,969 subscribers. | Editorial One can only sympathise with the Aston Martin Dealer who has seen the new Bond film three times this week (he could have attended the private AMOC screening to make it four in a row). At least he would have had time to digest the plot which is left struggling, at times, in the wake of the breakneck pace of the action sequences in the film. The 'invisibility' idea for the Vanquish must have taken some selling to the PAG group marketing executives - 'OK, so we have the Aston as Bond's car again - but you can't see it. Right?' Seriously, the car looks great in the film and, at the private showing for Aston fans we attended, created a big cheer when first revealed by Q. Bond and Aston are back together again.
In reality Audi's latest Q-car the S4, suitably tyred, would have been a fabulous car in the frozen lake sequence of the film and left the rear-driven XKR and Vanquish in its tracks. Our 'Car of the Week' feature gives you all the details of this exciting, and reasonably priced, family supercar. One of the last road-race events of the year, the Tour of Spain, has finished recently and we can bring you some superb photographs of the leading cars in sunshine that those of us in a cold Northern Europe can only dream about.
