Tucked away among the cartographic pieces in the Knightsbridge shop, The Map House of London, is a selection of travel posters. In a corner that is forever England, we liked the one advertising Goodyear tyres.
Goodyear’s poster, describing its products as ‘The Finest Tyres in the World’, is one of a series titled ‘Great Names are Born of Great Achievements’. Quite what Major General James P. Wolfe’s victory over the French at Quebec in 1759 has to do with car tyres is uncertain, though. One over on Michelin, we assume.
With its countless small shops and boutiques, London is an ideal venue for Christmas shopping: but where can you find the really special and unusual gifts? Classic Driver is out and about in the Capital, and will be suggesting a new gift idea every day.
