Just 1500 pieces per colour (blue or brown) of the company’s 1974 classic chronograph will be available to collectors from February 2010.

The timing corresponds with the year-long celebration of one and a half centuries of Heuer sporting timepieces. The rounded square case features the ‘Heuer’ logo only, in tribute to Jack Heuer, the man who created the 1970s original and its immediate (more famous) predecessor, the Monaco. The Monaco was one of the world’s first water-resistant square-case watches and the methods used in that were carried over to the Silverstone.

Both models used the Chronomatic Calibre 11, the first-ever self-winding automatic chronograph with micro rotor. This enabled the ever-innovative Jack Heuer to mount the manual winding/time adjustment crown at nine o’clock (instead of the more usual three o’clock), with the chronograph pushers at two and four. The re-issued Silverstone houses an updated version of the Calibre 11 with Dubois-Depraz module.

The watch will be presented in February 2010, costing in the region of 4500 euros. Two versions, blue and brown - both with alligator strap - will be available, limited to just 1500 pieces each.
