Fiskens at RétroMobile 2010

One of the must-visit stands at the RétroMobile show in Paris, starting this week and running till 31 January, is that of Fiskens. The renowned historic automobile dealership based in London SW7 has excelled itself this year, with a collection of cars on display which includes a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/C, an amazingly patinated 1933 MG K3 and a 1968 Porsche 910.

Switching venue from Kensington mews to Parisian suburbs, the Fiskens team, led by Gregor himself, has brought six mouth-watering cars to this year’s RétroMobile. The selection cleverly cross-sections collectors’ tastes. Its age range starts in the 1920s with the black 1925 Bentley 3-litre Speed model and finishes in 1968 with the long-distance racing Porsche.

In between, there’s a rare Zagato-bodied 1955 Fiat 8V Berlinetta, the desirable LHD 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT and the stunning, pale blue metallic Ferrari GT.

The 275 GTB/C, chassis 9057, was one of the 12 lightweight (by 150kg, thanks to extensive use of alloy and lower-weight steel) cars built at Maranello for the 1966 season. The ‘C’ stood for ‘Competizione’. This car was raced extensively in the USA in period and would make a terrific entry in the Tour Auto or Le Mans Classic.

Fiskens enjoyed an excellent 2009 RétroMobile and with this dramatic stand is hoping to repeat the feat in 2010.
