25/09/2003 Bonhams at Beaulieu Autojumble 13th Sept 2003 - Review and results
Bonhams must be pleased with the high level of lots sold at their recent Beaulieu Autojumble Sale. Only 10 of the 58 car or motorcycle lots did not sell and two of the highlighted cars, the 1957 Aston DB2/4 and the Brighton Run-eligible 1896 Whitney Two-Cylinder Steam Runabout, both sold well, the latter for £42,200 including premium.

The Aston, described as in very ‘original’ condition but said to run well, with just 33,178 miles on the clock, sold for £15,525. Also on the Aston front a 1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Saloon went for £23,000 and a 1982 Aston Martin V8 Saloon just £10,120.
Many pre-war cars were included in the sale, as befits the venue and occasion, some highlights being a 1936 Rolls-Royce 20/25hp Four Door Saloon Coachwork by Windovers £25,875, a 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II 40/50hp Sedanca de Ville Coachwork by Barker £32,775 and a 1926/7 Bentley 3/4 1/2-litre Chassis for £17,250. The 1912 Rolls-Royce 40/50hp Silver Ghost Chassis did not sell.
Bonhams next Motor Car sale is on 12th November at Harrogate, with their ‘highlight’, Christmas events being at London Olympia on 1st December and at Gstaad on 19th December for Bonhams Europe’s celebrated Ferrari Motorcars, Automobilia and Wristwatch Sale.
