Coys’ published results suggest a successful sale at the Autosport Show in January, with the top-seller being the 1968 Lola T70 Mk III at £91,163. This is the car – the last of its kind – which was shot from a cannon in the 1969 film ‘Le Mans’.

Coys lists several Ferraris as sold, including the 1998 456 GTA (the automatic version of the 456 GT) at £56,250. Meanwhile the 355 GTB and the right-hand drive, targa-topped Dino sold for £39,140 and £38,000, respectively.

The Opel Manta 400 in which Jimmy McRae (father of Colin and Alistair) won the 1984 British Open Rally Championship remained unsold.
