Lotus LMP2 for Le Mans 2012?

Expectations are high that Lotus will unveil a new LMP2 racer at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, with the aim of competing at Le Mans next year.

The LMP2 Lotus will probably start by running in the American Le Mans Series, or ALMS – while Lotus has already confirmed that it will be entering its Lotus Evora GTE in a full North American and International schedule in 2012, with a testing programme that starts in the final quarter of this year. This follows July’s announcement that Group Lotus Motorsport had formed Lotus Sport USA, headed up by Team Principals Ian Dawson and John Pritzlaff.
