Bugatti 18/3 Chiron
The Car
The Bugatti 18/3 "Chiron" is the Volkswagen Group's high performance concept sports car,
presented at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show. This study sets new design and technical standards, it
also forms a bridge between the history of the great pre-war Bugatti models and their drivers. Louis
Chiron was one of the most successful Bugatti Grand Prix racing drivers of the twenties and thirties,
with many victories to his name. His name is inseparable from the Bugatti legend- Giorgetto and
Fabrizio Giugiaro and Volkswagen-Design worked jointly on the new car's design.
