| Altough sir William Lyons, well known as mister Jaguar is the MKII the maxim of grace, pace and space. Nowadays it is known as one of the nicest saloons which are classic but are very usable on a daily base as well. The MKII has two faces, one face shows a very fast sport saloon which make the car very attracting during its years for the police as well as for the thieves (think of the movies from Get Carter with Michael Caine and off-course inspector Morse). The other face showed an extremely comfortable, representative car which was mainly used as a business car for the upper-class. The space inside, the way of sitting in the chairs, the looks, but above all the way of driving make the Jaguar one of the greatest saloons to have in a collection. Approximately 6 years ago we were able to find a Jaguar MKII in a unique condition. We drove about 10.000 kilometers with the car in one summer. That MKII was just in a bit different specification as the car which we offer now and there is a small fight in the family. The car which we owned and driven quite a lot 6 years ago was a 3.8 with manual gearbox and overdrive. This should normally be the best specification but by Jaguar people, it is well known that not the 3.8 with manual gearbox and overdrive but the 3.4 with this combination is the best driver. Even the bank robbers drove the 3.4 in the specification of the car which we offer now. They found it a better driving engine and even faster. Honestly, nowadays there is not such a big difference in the output of both engines. We have had a 3.8 which was slower then a 3.4 litre. The condition of this car is fantastic. It suits the car very well and the paint is extremely nice without any dents or scratches. The car has been repainted but on an extremely high level. A lot of money has been invested in the car and it is ready to use, even on a daily base (honestly the car is too nice for using it on a daily base). When the car was new, it was delivered in the Netherlands, so this is an original European example with kilometer indicator. The gearbox is shifting exactly as it has to be. The sound of the engine is excellent and amongst that does the car looks excellent. The door fittings are very nice even as the chrome work, the wheels and the windows. In our opinion it is a unique opportunity to buy a MKII for a relative low sum of money where enormous amounts of money has been invested into some years ago.
