1960 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Pininfarina : Series 11
Chassis: 1567GT: Left Hand Drive EU Taxes Paid / USA Title

Introduced in 1958, this model was an important landmark in the Ferrari production car story, as it marked the point where Pininfarina became, with only one subsequent exception, the sole designer of Ferrari series production cars to date. The engine/chassis combination would, with upgrading and modification, form the backbone of Ferrari production car output in the form of the various 250 GT models, for a decade.

Based on the chassis of the preceding model, it was powered by the iconic Columbo designed Tipo 125 2935 cc V12. Noted for its short-block dimensions, light weight and impressive output, the engine is famous for its free revving and smooth nature. In this model, it produced 237 bhp at 6200 RPM, accompanied by a glorious howl from the four “ANSA” style sports exhaust pipes!

The 250 GT rode smoothly on independent front suspension and telescopic shock absorbers, front and rear. It had a four speed, all-synchromesh gearbox for greater driving ease and it stopped as well as it went thanks to its all round hydraulic disk brakes. As a long distance “Grand Tourer” it was unsurpassed by its contemporaries. The sumptuous cabin featured swiveling quarter-lights, a large volume of glass for light and visibility and acres of leather and chrome.

1567GT was delivered new to the USA in November 1959 and is beautifully finished in its original production paint colour of Grigio Conchiglia (16249) with unmarked soft-tan leather interior. The Ferrari was the 19th Series 11 car to be produced out of a total number of 147.The car has undergone an extensive restoration both bodywork and mechanically which is clearly visible from its outstanding finish and appearance. We are delighted to present a near perfect ultra-rare Series 11 car.

The 250 GT PF represents a remarkable balance of style, speed and usability. With its roofless, less practical siblings now reaching sale prices far into the millions, this example, which is no less mouthwateringly pretty for its enclosed cockpit, must surely be the very zenith of good value. These are possibly one of the most under priced, two seat Ferrari 250 models available today and will surely enjoy a large premium price on current market value. Available for immediate inspection at our central London showrooms.
