|This outstanding AC Bristol chassis number BEX 261 was built for competition purposes in black with a red leather interior and many extras including front disc brakes, upgraded engine and overdrive. Delivered new to André Chardonnet the period French AC importer in March 1957 and registered in Paris 36 FY 75, it was used to promote the make in France.|
Between 1957 and 1958 A. Chardonnet entered the car in numerous events giving the wheel to famous drivers such as Jean Behra. The car’s main racing achievements are :

During the 60s the car was repainted in silver and purchased in 1986 by a make enthusiast. In 1998 the car undergone a total restoration from the bare chassis with its 100D2 engine rebuilt by Bristol.
BEX 261 has been enjoyed by its owner during the last 25 years, one of the co-founder from the French AC Club, during rallies in Europe during 5900 miles since the restoration and drives very nicely with its impressive 140HP engine. An impressive history file comes with including period press articles, race results, pictures, registrations and restoration file.
This very authentic 1957 car is largely known into the AC world and historically surely from the most significant of them. Ready to participate to any major event in the world, it is fully eligible for Mille Miglia.
