French title• The most sought after version• Ideal for regularity rallies• Enchanting engine1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1750 GT VeloceAlfa Romeo pulled out all the stops for the launch of the Giulia GT, presented in 1963 as the replacement for the Giulietta Sprint coupé which had revived the marque’s fortunes in this area. The balanced, assertive styling was the work of young designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, working for the Carrozzeria Bertone, hence « coupé Bertone ». The Giulia coupé enjoyed a long and successful career, commercially, and in competition, with the 1300 and 1600 GTA versions winning many titles. The 1750cc version (Tipo 105.44) appeared in 1967. The engine, from the Berlina, gave this pretty car a top speed of more than 190 km/h. There were many improvements made when this model was launched : the brakes were upgraded and the car had new seats and a new steering wheel. Many consider the « coupé Bertone » to be the best version, with its classic dashboard and freely revving engine. Records show that a 1750 GT Veloce took part in the Kyalami 9 Hours in 1969, and the Grand Prix de Printemps in Poland in 1971.The car offered is a desirable 1750 Bertone version in red. It was sold new in France, as the manufacturer’s plate shows and was restored during the 1990s. Our collector acquired the car in 2006 to take part in regularity rallies. Passionate about Italian cars, she wanted an enjoyable alternative to her Lancia 037. To this end, the car was fitted with bucket seats, alloy wheels, the bumpers were removed and intakes mounted on the Weber carburettors. Here is a great opportunity to buy one of the most sought-after versions of this coupé, that is as fun to drive as it is enjoyable to look at.
