Long admired and desired is the elegant Nash Healey Le Mans Coupe. Presented for your consideration and inspection is one of the 150, limited production Nash Healey Le Mans Coupes, produced through the joint efforts of Donald Healey (GB), Carrozzeria Pinin Farina (Italy) and the Nash Kelvinator Motor Company (USA) from 1953 - ‘54 These rare coupes are recognized and eligible for prestigious Vintage and Classic Motorsports tours, rallies and automotive events throughout the World. Research shows only 60 coupes with this desirable “formal backlite” were produced for the 1953 model year. The 1953 "Le Mans" model was awarded first prize in March of that year in the Italian International Concours d'Elegance held at Tresa, Italy.
This is a numbers matching example featuring the original 252 cu in (4.1 L) 151 hp 6 cylinder, Nash Ambassador, Jetfire engine, matched to a floor mounted 3 speed, overdrive transmission. The Le Mans Coupe rides on a 108” boxed steel chassis and proprietary suspension of Donald Healey design. The coupe weighs in at 2400 pounds which makes for a interesting power to weight ration for the times..
This particular example, chassis #3002, is finished in a brilliant Dark Red (almost Maroon) with a warm, contrasting tan leather interior, The car runs and drives well and exhibits decent road manners.
