This is one of those once in a lifetime cars that come along, well once in a lifetime. It is a 1975 UK Supplied Right Hand Drive De Tomaso Pantera GTS with only 1 owner from new and a genuine 22000 Miles on the clock. The car was bought by a Norfolk Farmer and used from 75 until 83 when it was taken off the road. It stayed there until a month ago when we were lucky enough to purchase the car from the original vendors brother. The car has been sitting and will require a restoration as the sills are rusty and everything will need going through. The car comes with a great history file including original brochures, The new Invoice, correspondence with the supplying dealer and other priceless bits of history. The car was, for instance, ordered from the factory without the riveted wheel arches which were standard on a GTS, he also specified black bonnet and boot lid. The car must have been quite a sight in Norfolk in the Eighties! The condition of the car is poor but the interior will scrub up well and most panels can be saved. The mechanicals on these cars are bulletproof and we are sure it would fire up if we tried, which we haven't, although the engine moves freely! De Tomaso's replacement for their successful Mangusta in 1971 was the avantgarde and stylish Pantera. Maintaining the best of the ingredients from the Mangusta, including the mid mounted 300 horse power Ford 351 cubic inch V8 Cleveland engine, 5 speed ZF transaxle and dramatic styling, the Pantera also added monocoque construction in to the mix. The cars sold well with production running from 1971 through to the early 90s with various derivatives emerging from the factory, although it is the early cars that have a certain purity that has ensured they remain the most attractive and thus collectible. This car combines the early chrome bumper look, the more powerful GTS model with an unmissable history. When restored, this will be the most amazing Pantera in the UK and with the history, certainly the most interesting. As I said, if this is for you then act quickly as we will not find another like this!
