| A late example of the fantastic Maranello and one of the best. It is in superb original order and has covered only 17,000 miles with a full service history. It has a desirable specification including quilted leather roof lining and rear shelf. The car was supplied new by Maranello Concessionaires, the first owner kept the car for a few years, it spent most of it's early years in storage and had covered only about 1,000 miles when Maranello Sales sold the car to the second owner Paul Brewer. The car remained in his collection until 2007 and was used sparingly whilst always being correctly maintained by Maranello Concessionaires. Hairpin purchased the car from Mr Brewer in 2007 along with a Ferrari 275GTB/4!. At this point the car had covered only 7,000 miles and was in lovely unmarked order, we sold it very quickly to Mr Peter Allen who at the time lived in Compton Bassett where we are based. It was always used as a second car by Mr Allen and was very carefully used and stored. Maintenance was carried out as per schedule by local Ferrari dealer Dick Lovett in Swindon. We repurchased the car from Mr Allen in 2009, at this point it had covered 14,000 miles and had clearly been well looked after with no deterioration in it's excellent original order. Again we sold the car very quickly to a Mr Patrick Keenan who had been looking for great 550 for some time. He again used the car as a second car for high days and holidays and continued to maintain it correctly with DK Engineering. Indeed they completed the 18,250 mile service with a belt change at 16,750 miles last November. We bought the car back from Mr Keenan at the beginning of August, the mileage has risen to just 17,500 miles and it remains in lovely unmarked original condition throughout, it even smells like new inside still!! Everywhere you look there are none of the usual wear marks that one associates with a slightly delicate Italian marque. The driving experience is further evidence of careful use and regular maintenance, it remains very tight and fluent on the road, everything works correctly and there are no rattles or loose feel one finds in hard used examples. A really fantastic example of the 550 a model it seems that is becoming more rated by enthusiasts as the new models become an increasingly electronic detached experience. The car is original, as new with a great specification and only 17,000 miles in the hands of four owners. It has a full history and is complete with all books, tools invoices and MOT certificates.
