The ultimate W107, one of the last 500SLs in great colours, jet black with black leather. The car has a very full specification including air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats, rear seats, illuminated vanity mirrors, headlamp wash wipe and original Blaupunkt Toronto stereo. The car has covered 42,000 miles in the hands of four owners, the first being the supplying dealer.
The car was ordered new by Mercedes dealer, Lancaster of Hertford, it was supplied in early June 1989 and sold in August that year. First registered by the supplying dealer on the 1st August, the car was registered to the first private owner on the 18th August that year. A resident of Bristol, he retained the car until October 1992. It was used sparingly during his ownership with only 7,000 miles being covered.
The second owner retained the car from 1992 until June 2011. It was carefully stored at his holiday home in the South of France and used during summer breaks. During this period the car was regularly serviced by a Mercedes dealer and a local specialist, stamps in the original service book and invoices document the maintenance completed.
The last owner purchased the car in 2011 to join his small private collection, he had a particular fondness for great examples of the W107 model. The car was sent to celebrated Mercedes specialist John Haynes in Worthing for a full evaluation, a copy of which is in the history file. All areas requiring attention were attended to with in excess of £4,000 being spent.
In exceptionally good original condition throughout, this is a very nice and desirable example with a full history, great specification and low mileage. It comes with original handbook pack, many invoices and MOT certificates, all keys and the original toolkit.
