| This is an absolutely stunning purchase for a number of reasons which I will attempt to outline here! Firstly it is probably one of the most desirable Mercedes cars ever made, It is a 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Coupe with Automatic Gearbox, Power Steering, electric windows etc. Dont forget, this was when Mercedes knew how to make cars and they were second to none as regards build quality etc. This is the end of the line 280 with the shorter radiator and the 3.5 litre V8 engine, only made for two years, these normally sell for anything up to double the price of the 280SE 6 cylinder version for good reason.
Here we have one of the most desirable, easy to own and drive, Mercedes cars suitable for daily use at a very reasonable price. With only 241 cars made these are very rare and as such have sold for over £50,000 in pristine condition. Interior: The interior of our car is finished in luxurious Cream Leather. All the dials and instruments seem to work as they should and the interior looks like a five year old car, it is very nice and presentable. Cream Leather is my personal favourite as it lightens up the interior. The wood has recently been renewed. Exterior: Our car is finished in a deep dark Silver which contrasts with the cream interior perfectly. The paint is nearly perfect having had a full respray in the last 3 years. There is some localised corrossion on the chromework however. The tyres are all good as are the hubcaps, all the glass area is good also. Mechanical: As you would expect from a daily driver, the mechanical condition of the car is very good. The car starts first time and drives exactly as it should. The car has a new MOT and is ready for its next owner. The gearbox changes smoothly and there are no knocks or rattles from the car. The car has also just recently been serviced. Summary: The 280SE 3.5 Coupe is the one to have, this car has had a lot of money spent on it, regular servicing, and is in a very good useable condition. You can use it as it is or gradually improve it during your ownership. If you are going to spend money on an old car, this is the model to do it on as the potential value is huge. Mercedes cars of this era were bulletproof and the previous owner spared no expense in this cars upkeep. The spec is great and the colours are perfect. There is a large history file with the car including correspondence with previous owners. Being a very rare RHD car helps and as a replacement for a modern car is second to none. This is being offered at a fraction of the pristine price and much less that the car would sell for at a nice glossy London Dealer! Be very quick as they are hard to come by at this price!
