| Year : 1987 Make : Rolls-Royce Model : Corniche Coachbuilder : Mulliner/Park Ward (Left Hand Drive) Body Type : Convertible Colour : Acrylic Cobalt Blue Trim : White Leather Piped Blue History : It was announced in 1981 by Rolls-Royce that the production of two door fixed head coupes in both Rolls-Royce and Bentley form would cease, with the decision taken to concentrate solely on convertible motor cars. Rolls-Royce Corniche convertibles were produced from the early 1970’s until 1995 with constant improvement always being sought out and introduced. Towards the late 1980’s the Series II Corniche convertibles were introduced and were produced for a relatively short time. The coachwork by Mulliner/Park Ward which was designed by legendary stylist John Blatchley was retained but improved with a number of minor alterations. They were assembled in London and built largely for the export market. This particular example that we are currently offering for sale was finished in the autumn of 1987 at Crewe in Acrylic Cobalt with a white hood and white leather interior piped blue. It was subsequently shipped to Houston in the United States, landing in America in October of 1987. It has remained in the US, largely in the Florida area ever since until returning to London very recently. The odometer currently reads just over 22,000 miles from new. Following a detailed inspection, considering the cars excellent condition throughout and the paperwork with the car, this is almost certainly the correct mileage. Present with this example are a full complement of tools and cocktail sets fitted into both the driver and passenger door cubby, a very nice factory option that is rarely seen. The condition of this motor car is excellent in every respect and it will be serviced, prepared and road tested as per our normal policy allowing the next fortunate owner trouble free onward motoring. Condition : Very good condition throughout. Technical Data : Three speed automatic gearbox, power steering, 8 cylinder 90 degree V-configuration engine, 6.7 litres displacement, 6750cc capacity.
