| Registration No.: PJ 3812 The low chassis 2 Litre model was introduced to the Lagonda line up in 1929, with various modifications to the braking and handling characteristics it was a capable motor car. It was however lacking in power thus the factory option of a supercharger, most typically a Cozette No.9 was fitted and the model went on to achieve numerous Motorsport successes. Benefitting from a generous history file we are able to account for a lot of this fabulous car’s history. First registered on the 4th March 1932, we learn from a note on file from the late, London dealer Dan Margulies that the first owner ‘Abrahams’ returned it to the factory (via Mayfair dealer Ernest Sutton) for a full upgrade to Supercharged specification. He notes that Abrahams raced it quite successfully and confirms that it was the same car that ran in the 1939 RAC Rally where it achieved a class award for C.E. ‘Toppy’ Littler. Interestingly it was also reputed to have been loaned to one of the Dambusters pilots and Bob Ansell and Margulies raced the car before it was sold on (with ‘accumulated silverware’) to Bunty Scott-Moncrieff. On file is a buff log book that denotes ownership from 1956 through 1962. PJ 3812 remained in the same ownership from 1966 through to 2006 and this included a thorough restoration in the 1990s and a generous photographic records attests the extent of the works. Within the last year alone, over £15,000 GBP has been spent at marque specialists Bishop Gray to bring the car into top order and it is presenting extremely well. Now that it has a good few thousand miles of touring under its belt the overall condition is most pleasing as paint and brightwork are superb yet the interior has had the chance to dull somewhat and it makes for a most attractive overall package.
