| Rolls-Royce präsentierte im April 1955 die neuen Modelle Silver Cloud und Bentley S. Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Modellen beschränkten sich allein auf die Kühlerform und die Markenembleme. In der Fahrzeugtechnik herrschte völlige Übereinstimmung. Bei den beiden Modellen verrichtete der Sechszylinder-Reihenmotor in seiner nunmehr letzten Entwicklungsstufe mit 4.887 cm³ Hubraum seinen Dienst in hervorragender Manier. Ein vorsichtig Leistungsgesteigerter Bentley S 1 Continental folgte innerhalb des ersten halben Jahres nach dem Produktionsstart. Dieser Typ, der agilere Fahrwerte bot, unterschied sich von den Basismodellen auch dadurch, dass er nicht mit einer Standardkarosserie erhältlich war. Er wurde als Fahrgestell mit Motor ausgeliefert und erhielt von unabhängigen Karosseriebauern und von der zu Rolls Royce gehörenden Karosseriebaudivision Park Ward Aufbauten als zweitüriges Coupé - gerne als Fastback (= Fließheck) - oder als Cabriolet.
Bei diesem Bentley Continental S1 Fastback handelt es sich um eine der begehrten und sehr selten auf dem Markt zu findenden linksgelenkten Ausführungen. Der Wagen wurde vor einigen Jahren einer Komplettrestaurierung bei der renommierten Adresse P & A Wood in Essex, UK unterzogen. Die hochwertige Qualitätsrestaurierung hatte den Wagen nahezu in Neuzustand versetzt. Seit der Restaurierung wurde der Wagen immer wieder gefahren und peinlich genau darauf geachtet, den exzellenten Zustand zu erhalten. Im Rahmen der Restaurierung wurde das Motor Kühlungssystem modifiziert und eine zusätzliche Benzinpumpe für den Betrieb mit heutigen Kraftstoffen verbaut. Zur Ausstattung des Fahrzeugs gehört eine getrennt vorne und hinten schaltbare Klimaanlage, elektrische Fensterheber und ein weich schaltendes Automatik-Getriebe. Das Fahrzeug fährt sich elegant und überlegen und ist bestens geeignet auch lange Strecken damit zu absolvieren. Dieser Bentley ist weit mehr als ein interessantes Investitionsobjekt und vermittelt nebenbei höchste Fahrfreude und Eleganz. Otherwise, technically they were completely the same. Both models did their work splendidly with their six cylinder inline engines which were now at the end of their development with 4,887 cm3 capacity. A performance of the Bentley S 1 Continental was carefully increased within the first six months of the production and this increased the driving agility, it also differed from the base model, also because it was not available with the standard car body. It was delivered as a chassis with motor and received its body from independent coachbuilders and from Rolls Royce’s coach building division Park Ward, as a two door coupé – gladly as a Fastback – or as a cabriolet. This particular Bentley Continental S1 Fastback is one of the few much sought after and quite rare left hand drivers on the market. The vehicle was completely restored, just a few years ago, at the renowned P & A Wood in Essex, UK. The high quality restoration practically returned the vehicle into its original new condition. Since its restoration, the vehicle has been driven regularly and great care has been taken to maintain its excellent condition. Within the restoration, the motor cooling system was modified and an additional fuel pump for operation with modern fuel was installed. The vehicle’s extras include a separate air conditioning for the front and the back, electric windows and an automatic transmission which switches gears smoothly. The vehicle drives elegantly and with superiority and is perfectly suited for long drives. This Bentley is much more than an interesting investment object, it also embodies great driving pleasure and elegance. La performance de la Bentley S 1 Continental a été augmentée lors des premiers six mois de sa production. La maniabilité de ce type a donc été accroît, se différencie du modèle de base, aussi parce que ce modèle n’était pas disponible avec la carrosserie standard. Il était donc livré avec seulement le châssis et le moteur. La carrosserie venait de carrossier indépendant ou de la division de carrosserie Park Ward de Rolls Royce. Ce modèle était construit comme coupé à deux portes, aussi comme Fastback ou en cabriolet. Ce Bentley Continental S1 Fastback est un des modèles très rares et recherchés avec le chauffeur à gauche. La voiture a était complètement restauré il y peu d’années à l’adresse renommée P & A Wood en Essex, Royaume- Unie. La restauration de qualité a retourné la voiture dans ses conditions toutes neuves. Depuis la restauration, elle est conduite régulièrement et beaucoup d’attention est porté pour la maintenir dans cet état excellent. Le système de refroidissement du moteur a été modifié lors de la restauration un une pompe à carburant additionnelle a été installé pour l’essence actuelle. Les extras de la voiture inclut un climatisant avant et arrière, réglable séparément, des lève-vitres électriques et une transmission électrique lisse. La voiture roule avec élégance et supériorité et est approprié pour de longs trajets. Ce Bentley est plus qu’on simple objet d’investissement, il est aussi véhicule le plaisir de rouler en voiture et l’élégance.
