| This is one of the cars which even the biggest collectors around the world would not directly recognize. This extremely rare Morgan 4/4 Drophead Coupe is supposed to be 1 of the only 25 driveable Morgan 4/4 Drophead Coupes around the world. The car has full matching numbers (confirmed by the factory and by Morgan historian Hermen Pol). The car has an extensive history file with and known history since new. With the car comes a big binder with pictures of the restoration etc. The previous owners are Mr R Ashworth (1948 - 1964), Christopher Davies, Terry Holden (1981 - 2000) and then in Holland Chris Bekkenkamp (2000 - 2002) and Cor Glorie (2002 to 2011). The car is a very rare car, as we already mentioned, supposedly there are only about 25 driveable cars worldwide. The car has the original Standard Special engine which is in perfect order. The paint is nice - the car was painted 12 years ago. Here and there you will find a small crack in the paint, as the normal signs of a car being driven. The car has a beautiful cream leather interior (as new) with restored instruments (all 100% original). The soft top is in perfect condition, and also the chrome etc. The car has all restored great woodwork. The car was restored in the UK about 12 years ago by Terry Holden, the owner that had the car for almost 25 years. He stripped the car to the chassis (pictures are with the car) but he did not have to replace it. So it is still on it's original chassis from 1948. Of course fully refurbished etc. The wood needed replacement with the exemption of the rear bit. Engine fully overhauled etc. Chassis, woodwork and mechanics are in very good order. Last 10 years with the same owner in Holland. The car was appraised for the Insurance in May 2011 for Eur 37.500. The best part of this car is it extreme rarity and it's very original condition. The Drophead was the best of the flat rads and very few survive. The car's mechanics and the vital parts are in great order. There is absolutely no rust. The car is road legal and the latest owner drove the car to England, France etc. Therefore, we know that the car is 100% reliable and handles great. However, do realise that the paint has some small spots. No rust but a small crack here and there. However, this car was invited to participate in the 2010 Concours d'elegance at t Loo in Holland (the biggest and very prestigious concours) because it is so rare and so original.
