| Aston Martin Virage, start of a new era In 1989, the Virage marked an important step by Aston Martin as the start of a new decade. This specific car is very special in every respect, because it’s the very first Virage built by Aston Martin. Virage is a beautiful French word (meaning ‘bend’) that embodies the car’s continental ambitions. It’s a true gran turismo, a fast, luxurious and extremely exclusive 2 + 2, designed to cover great distances at high speed. The Virage, in every respect, proved to be a worthy successor to the now classic V8 series – of which the production process had become too expensive over the years. The coachwork with its modern lines was newly designed in full, all the while respecting traditional Aston Martin brand characteristics. The 5.3 litre V8 was fitted with new cylinder heads with four valves servicing every cylinder. Fuel was provided by a new injection system. These improvements yielded output of no less than 330 bhp. Aston Martin Virage #50001 – 1989 in detail Virtually the entire history of the first Virage is known. The car was manufactured on 13 December 1989 and was supplied to Gullivers Associates in London on 21 February 1990. The Virage remained in the possession of this company for almost ten years and was sold to its second owner, Devol Engineering, in January 2000. This company, in turn, sold the car to William Gerrard in 2002. In September 2009, the Virage was sold to Mrs Norma Rothwell. Noble House purchased the Virage from this fourth owner. Service history from 2002 through 2009 accompanies the Virage. This documentation indicates that GBP 10,728 was spent on the Aston Martin. The original Owners Manual and the Aston Martin Virage service book are also present. The odometer reading, which has proved to be original, is a mere 28,850 miles. This Aston Martin Virage is fitted with an automatic transmission system and is finished in the sophisticated colour combination featuring a British Racing Green exterior and a Magnolia interior with Green piping. Not only does Noble House have the first, it also has the last Aston Martin Virage in its possession! This car – chassis number 50426 – is being offered along with the Virage (#50001), featured here, as a combined sale. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own this one-off duo!
