The Testarossa was designed by Ferrari specifically for the U.S. market, applying lessons learned in Ferrari s racing while marking a dramatic entry into the high performance, luxury gran turismo market. A remarkable new body by Pininfarina was a clear departure from Pininfarina s earlier designs. The distinctive sinuous shape of the car was developed in Pininfarina s wind tunnel specifically to produce high-speed aerodynamic down force and features dramatic side strakes which channeled cooling air into the engine s radiators located in front of the massive rear wheels.
