This is a very nice Corniche I from 1976 upgraded to Corniche II look with much money spent recently. It is finished in the great colour of Le Mans Blue with Beige Hide.
Originally supplied to the Fred Parkes Group of Grimsby in April 1976 and registered '10 FBP', this Corniche convertible comes with extensive history files including copies of the original build sheets (showing the car was ordered in July 1975). Subsequently the Corniche spent some time in Monte Carlo where maintenance was undertaken by British Motors, the Rolls-Royce concessionaires in the Principality. The car returned to the UK in 1996, since when it appears to have had a handful of owners and to have covered a relatively modest mileage.
The previous owner has spent in excess of £21,000 in the last couple of years in bringing the car up to its current very good standard (invoices on file). Most of the work was carried out by D&D Motor Services of Halesowen in February 2011, including structural repairs, new sills, new A-posts, chassis box section, etc. The car was then sent to Rolls-Royce specialists DEW Services of Eynsham, Oxfordshire for further works including fitting new rear sub-frame mounts and trailing arms; new brake callipers, discs, reservoir, pump and flexi hoses; new front dampers; and new wheel bearings and track rod ends.
Strikingly finished in its original colour scheme of Le Mans Blue with Magnolia interior, this very good-looking 1st-series Corniche has been fitted with Series 2 impact-resistant bumpers and alloy wheels. It is described as being in generally good condition with excellent chassis and very good engine, and has a particularly handsome interior that appears to be largely original. The paintwork is very good but there are still some areas that would need attention. The dark blue Everflex hood was replaced in 2002 and is in good condition, while the power hood mechanism functions correctly.
The car is offered with three specially bound files of history (including the aforementioned original build sheets which run to 35 pages), recent invoices, current road fund licence, MoT to June 2013 and Swansea V5C registration document. Recently serviced by DEW Services, this Corniche performs without fault and is a true 'drive away' purchase.
The condition of this car is very good, the colour scheme is perfect and it represents incredible value at the asking price, with summer finally arriving this is a perfect car for long summer evenings!
