We are unsure of the exactly when this example was built, however it is truly fine example. It has a full aluminum centre section including the bottom of the sills, bulkhead and doors. The bonnet and the rear section are both made from heavy duty fibre glass as may of the early built cars were. It is fitted with a matching number head and block 3.4 litre Jaguar MKII engine with twin SU carbs. The front and rear suspension are both MKII and the car bears the chassis number of a right hand drive 1966 3.4 MKII as well. Fitted with a standard 4 speed Jaguar gear box the car has recently been re registered here in the UK having been previously been German registered. The car is an absolute delight to drive the steering is not too heavy and the engine has plenty power, with a superb sound from the side mounted exhaust pipe. This car has a wonderful patina both inside and out, there are a few scars to the paint work and the interior is a bit worn, but this adds to the general look to the car as it really gives the feel and look of a 50‘s sports racing Jaguar.
Proteus Sportscars were at the forefront of creating well engineered C Type replicas, this is a great example in mechanically very good order with a fantastic genuine look to it. It comes with an MoT until June 2013 a the UK V5C registration document.
