Short Film: Modern Motor Cycle Company

Many believe the mid-20th Century was the golden era of the motor car; Christian Condo believes the same of its two-wheeled counterpart. He describes the motorcycle as “reliable and functional, but still humble and elegant”, and the company he founded recaptures this notion both in its motorcycles, and in this short film.

Prior to his endeavours reviving classic motorbikes, Condo spent seven years as an automotive mechanic and five years as an industrial designer. Twinned with his passion for two-wheeled machinery, this experience gave him the skills required to establish the Modern Motor Cycle Company and breathe new life into classic motorcycles – mainly from the 1960s and 1970s, but with the odd ‘wild card’ such as the 1929 Triumph currently in the works. In Condo’s own words, each unique bike provides a refreshing alternative to the “increasingly plastic, angular, over-decorated and over-engineered” motorcycles of today.
