| Chassis GBM60 was originally sold to Mr H.M Lingford of “Lancelands” of County Durham who sent the chassis to Windovers Ltd to be fitted with a Brougham body with division, body no. 5557. Herbert Lingford passed away and the Rolls was inherited by his son Kenneth Lingford. In 1967 he exchanged the Rolls for a Wolseley which he deemed more suitable for towing his glider. Mr David Bainbridge, son of William Bainbridge who incidentally was Herbert Lingfords Chauffeur brought the Rolls for £50 off of the garage owner. David Bainbridge ran the local village shop and post office and as the Second World War loomed the Rolls became the local Taxi, Ambulance and Funeral car. In 1979 GBM60 went to America with its original Body, reported in Fasal’s book to be a shooting brake in the U.S.A. Around 1998 Brian Bergman-Field acquired GBM60 Chassis and bought the Gurney Nutting Weyman saloon body separately, originally fitted to a 4 ½ litre Bentley reg no. KL3579, he married the two together making for an extremely sporting and lightweight Rolls Royce 20hp. In 2007 GBM60 underwent a major Chassis rebuild taking some 9 months by its RREC member owner. Since then it has covered a 700 mile rally in 2008 and toured some 3,500 miles in 2009 suffice to say “she drives like a Rolls Royce”
