| 911 Carrera 2.7 - 9114400245 We are pleased to offer a rare opportunity to purchase a highly desirable Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera (US) Originally delivered through the Porsche dealer ‘Heishman’, Arlington VA USA and first registered 1st December 1973, this car represents one of the very early Impact Bumper ‘G’ Carrera’s and shares the chassis and running gear of the iconic 1973 RS Touring. This car represents an outstanding Investment potential, as just 528 Coupe versions of the 1974 Carrera (US) were built. The certificate of authenticity documents the following factory delivered specification options :- Impact Bumpers Blaupunkt radio Front and rear spoilers Intermittent windshield wiper operation Sound system The type 911/93 2.7litre engine is the correct factory specification and benefits from a fully documented complete rebuild with new unstamped Magnesium ‘7R’ cases in September 1998, it was fully rebuilt with new pistons and liners and complete overhaul in the USA, and covered less than 10,000 miles since. It has very good cylinder leak test figures, and recent dyno testing recorded in excess of 190bhp. It is fitted with a non-standard dual exit exhaust final silencer which gives extra power and a lovely sound, but this can be replaced with the correct unit if desired. The 915 gearbox is very good mechanically, shifts very nicely . It is the correct 915/06 type and the original matching number serial number is completely visible and intact. The wheels are the correct ‘period’ date stamped late ’73, and have been refinished to the correct ’74 spec’ petalled finish combined with new tyres Vehicle includes its original ’74 drivers manual, in an original document folder with key tags, service directory book plus other period documentation. A complete toolkit with jack and correct period air compressor, complete the detail items included in the sale. The front boot carpet when removed reveals the originality of the boot area, correct black detailing around the chassis plate, even the original black mastic finish on top of the front struts is present and fully intact All original glass, including windscreen is a rare find, so many period intact details make this car unique The car runs and drives very well, with no faults and is a joy to balance the fuel injected engine with the early 915 ratios and experience the classic 911 feel in a car that has its roots very closely associated with the RS Touring version The interior is remarkably well preserved, excellent condition rooflining, original blue/black leatherette basketweave seats, the unique 380mm Carrera 3-spoke ‘fat-grip’ Steering wheel. The original carpets show signs of wear, but contribute to the ‘patina’ of the car – the car is sold with a choice of replacing with new carpets if required. The vehicle is in remarkable unrestored condition, no sign of rust or corrosion evident having spent the majority of its life in California, the comprehensive history file (which is one of the most comprehensive seen) dating back to the mid-seventies is a credit to its former owners that have treated this vehicle with the highest regard. This outstanding vehicle remains in very good mechanical condition, and is ready to enjoy new ownership.
