Legends are pleased to offer this well-known Chevron B31 for sale. Chassis No. 1 was delivered as new in 1975 to Stephano Bertoni in Italy. In period, the car is believed to of competed in the 2 ltr Sports Car Championship after which it was hill climbed for many years in Italy.
Ed Swart bought the car in 2002 and took it to the US where he contested many SCCA events. It was then sold to Burt Barnett in Southern California. After which the car was purchased and repatriated to the UK by the current owner in 2008.
At this point the car was subjected to a complete overhaul. Vin Malkie re-tubbed the car in 2009, (The original tub stays with the car). The engine is the latest specification Geoff Richardson BDG which is two races and one quali old. Newly rebuilt Hewland FG gearbox, (which is original to the car). All suspension components have been completely rebuilt using new bearings rose joints etc. All of the work carried out from the engine / transmission to the chassis / suspension has been performed by “the right people” to the absolute highest standard. This point is proven by the cars results over the past two years competing in the Masters, Orwell and HSCC series.
B31 No. 1 is offered with a running spares pack, which includes 4 sets of wheels. All paperwork is in order, FIA HTP, bag tanks, crack testing etc. The old American and Italian papers are also present.
