‘Designing 007 - Fifty Years of Bond Style’: A new exhibition at the Barbican, London

The most famous secret agent in the world is charming, stylish and as ready with a witty word as he is with his Walther PPK. He’s Bond, James Bond, and there’s a new exhibition in London dedicated to the man, his style and the amazing film sets created by Sir Ken Adam.

The curators of ‘Designing 007 - Fifty Years of Bond Style’ have gone to great lengths to ensure that the ethos of the original Bond in books and celluloid is respected. Visitors are greeted by the sight of a life-size, waxwork Sean Connery, for example, and there’s also a surprisingly realistic Shirley Eaton as ‘Jill Masterson’, gold-painted, lying dead on a bed.

From now until 5 September, they are joined by Ursula Andress’s famous white bikini, Scaramanga’s golden gun and 400 other exhibits from the great days of 007.

As you can see from the two videos, this is a Bond exhibition like few others, with input from some of the highly skilled creative experts (such as Brownyn Cosgrave and Lindy Hemming) who helped capture the world’s imagination for the most stylish secret agent ever.
