| By 1964 the Brabham Racing organization was already a force to be reckoned with. From the moment the stunningly designed BT8 Sportscar made its debut at the London Racing Car Show in January 1964 it was no exception. Frequently raced with great success against larger engined competition. The BT8‘s greatest victory came when Denny Hulme won the 1965 Tourist Trophy race at Oulton Park in 1965 beating the larger Lola T70 of John Surtees, Lotus 30 of Jim Clark, McLaren Oldsmobile of Bruce McLaren, Ferrari 250 LM of David Piper and Cobra Sir John Whitmore. This beautifully presented example of the striking and highly effective Brabham BT8 is the 2nd of only 12 examples built. Supplied new with a 2.5 litre Coventry Climax engine to Hugh Dibley who raced the car for the Stirling Moss Automobile Racing Team in 1964 in number of events including; Goodwood, Oulton Park, Aintree, and the Silverstone International Trophy. In 1967 it crossed the Atlantic to Canada where it continued to be campaigned by a number of privateers before returning to the UK in the mid 1980’s. Meticulously prepared by Crosthwaite and Gardiner, very much on the button and ready to go, with a recent outing at this years Goodwood Revival.
