Now we don't need to tell many people what an MG B is, but there's certainly no need to try and explain anything about this one to the last owner as he actually bought this fresh B back in 1981, over 40 years ago.

The British roadster is one of the most well-known and popular classic open two-seater cars, and for many years, it was almost the standard when you thought of a classic roadster. The beautifully designed B was presented in 1962 and symbolizes the affordable English classic roadster. This yellow B is one from the later years, specifically 1977.

Experts will immediately notice that the production year of this particular model conflicts with the chrome bumpers is sports. However, there will be few people who see this as a drawback. The '77 B you see here was delivered new in the Netherlands and was sold to the owner after four years, who kept hold of it until now. The proud gentleman drove his soft yellow English convertible for over 40 years, during which the car underwent a complete restoration about halfway through that period. No half-measures and certainly not rushed: the two-seater was completely overhauled, and there is an enormous stack of invoices documenting the restoration. From the chrome bumpers and grille to the beautiful wire wheels and the tiniest bolt, everything that was replaced or restored during the restoration (and that list is almost endless) has been documented.

As is often the case with cars that have undergone such a restoration, after this thorough treatment, the life of this B hasn't been as demanding. Since the car is originally European, it lacks the large indicators and reflectors found in the American version, which often created a somewhat disturbing appearance in terms of the classic lines. The chrome grille, bumpers, and wheels are virtually the only concessions made to the original, and in this case, we could not be happier. In addition, there has been a pleasant upgrade in terms of the mechanics, in the form of an MGC rear axle with longer gear ratios. This is one of the reasons why this MG drives exceptionally well. We've seen quite a few B's pass through here, and based on that experience, we can say that this one belongs to the top class when it comes to driving characteristics and technical condition.

The MG B is equipped with the original 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, which is paired with a four-speed gearbox with overdrive that can be operated through the switch on the gear knob. Although it was available for a large part of the production years of the B, only about 20% of them were equipped with this pleasant option.

The interior is in top condition. The black upholstery with a check pattern, the very neat floor covering, the door panels in top-notch condition, and, of course, the dashboard with the familiar Smiths gauges. Everything functions as it should, and both the materials and the instruments feel perfect. Another rarity is the original steering wheel that is still present in the B. The overall condition of the MG B makes an exceptionally fresh impression, and this is further emphasized when the MG B does what it was made for: driving!

The car comes with two folders of documentation and invoices. It provides a wonderful insight into how this car has been treated throughout the decades. This roadster has spent 40 years with its previous owner, and we dare say it's ready for another 40 years of enjoyment for the next owner.
