It is one of the most iconic model names in automotive history: Testarossa! Say it out loud a few times, emphasizing 'ros,' and you'll instantly feel like an Italian. Translated literally, it means 'redhead,' referring to the red cylinder heads of the powerful V12 engine. The Testarossa of the '80s was named after legendary predecessors such as the 250 Testa Rossa and 500 TR. As a child of the '80s, this Ferrari had everything that car enthusiasts of that time dreamed of: pop-up headlights, enormous air intakes, and black grilles over the taillights. The number of posters that adorned bedroom walls and office spaces must have been countless.

Behind the wheel, the average person in their forties will immediately have a flashback to the late '80s when they played the game Out Run, one of the first and most famous racing games ever, where the Testarossa took centre stage. Not familiar with the game but with television? Then you undoubtedly know the Testarossa from Miami Vice. You see: the Testarossa is an icon of its time, a car that is almost as representative of that era as the cassette tape, test pattern, and Viewmaster.

The Testarossa you see here is a highly sought-after 'Monodado,' which means that it is equipped with wheels featuring a central wheel nut. Later on, the model received 'regular' wheels mounted with five bolts.
The Rosso Corsa Ferrari was delivered to its first owner in early 1987 through a dealer in Houston, Texas. The Testarossa didn't lead a hard life thereafter, as it only clocked up 33,836 miles (about 54,000 kilometres) in total. The car was always properly serviced at an authorized dealer. Recently, the car underwent a complete maintenance service and received a new timing belt.
This is typically a car only driven in good weather and kept warm and dry in between those sparse sunny miles. If you take a walk around the mid-engined two-seater, you will hardly find a spot that is not perfect. It is a truly beautiful car.

Due to its carefree life, the condition of the car can be described as stunning. The paintwork is very beautiful and largely original, as far as we can tell. There are hardly any imperfections to be found. The 'monodado' wheels are also beautiful, without any damage, including tires in the correct size. The interior of the Testarossa is equally gorgeous, with beautiful natural-coloured leather. The upholstery, like the rest of the interior, is entirely original and in formidable condition. No damage, no signs of drying out due to the warm American sun—everything is simply stunning. The instrument panel, the centre console, the beautiful steering wheel, and all the other wonderful '80s details around you: the Ferrari is incredibly beautiful and original. The sleek, understated design of the dashboard, the orange-red gauges not only in front of you but also in the centre console, and of course, the black gear shift knob disappearing into the typical Ferrari shift pattern via a long steel shift lever. It's all very '80s, but there is not a single centimetre that suggests it was thirty-five years ago.

This Testarossa is an exceptional example for enthusiasts who appreciate originality and something special, which this 'Testa' certainly is, thanks to the special wheels. This nearly two-meter-wide Ferrari (1.97 meters to be precise) comes with the original booklets and necessary documentation.
