Description

Distinguished by its unique ridged carbon fiber composite body and fenders, this car is a rolling Tribute to Jean Bugatti. It is a stylized interpretation of Ralph Lauren’s classic 40 million dollar 1938 Type 57SC Bugatti Atlantic, considered by many to be one of the most expensive and beautiful cars in the world. Called The PACIFIC, it was built by DELAHAYE USA in Long Valley, NJ over a four year period. It is based on a 127-inch wheelbase chassis which is ten inches longer than the original Bugatti. As a result, the intentionally longer and wider passenger compartment has ample room for 6-foot 10-inch tall NBA-league passengers with big shoulders.

The engine is a 300 hp aluminum fuel-injected 304 cubic inch twelve cylinder BMW M70B50 SOHC. Transmission is a BMW 4HP24 EH four-speed automatic with electronic control.

The stainless steel tubular seat frames are exact copies of those in Ralph Lauren’s Atlantic. The seats are trimmed in brocade, a class of richly decorative shuttle-woven fabric. The remainder of the interior was trimmed in camel-colored leather, ultra suede and Mercedes Benz carpeting by Jerry Ambrosi of MASTER UPHOLSTERY in Newton, NJ, considered to be one of the top trim artisans in the East.

Built by Gary Brown of Port Leyden, NY, he painted the car with House of Kolor’s new #52BC25 JET BLACK. The Dayton wire wheels are shod with Excelsior tires. The car is equipped with power windows and air-conditioning. This piece of rolling sculpture presents classic pre-war styling emulating one of the most beautiful cars in history, but is mounted on a chassis with all the conveniences of a modern drivetrain.
