At January’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Jaguar unveiled its new S-TYPE range – a major revision of the hugely successful sporting saloon.

Spearheading the new range is the supercharged R model – the first R Performance derivative of the S-TYPE. With a 4.2-litre supercharged V8 developing 400bhp, this new flagship is the most powerful Jaguar saloon ever.

The 4.2-litre engine is also available in normally aspirated form, plus there are three new 2.5-litre models, the least expensive of which comes in at £25,000 on-the-road in the UK. Every variant in the new range has a completely redesigned interior, and has the option of six-speed ZF automatic transmission.

The new S-TYPE range goes on sale in the UK and continental Europe in March.
