2012 British Classic Car Meeting in St Moritz: A new route, new cars

The 19th British Classic Car Meeting will take place from 13 to 15 July 2012. This year’s event will not only have an all-new route, it will include an ‘Open Class’ of even more varied British classics.

This year’s route will take in the beautiful Albula and Flüela passes in the canton of Graubünden. As ever, the rally starts and finishes in the main street of St Moritz, just outside Badrutt's Palace Hotel.

The rally might not be scheduled for a few months yet, but, such is the interest in the no longer ‘secret’ event, that entries are already coming in. For 2012, in addition to the long-established marque categories of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Lagonda, Jaguar/Daimler, Healey and Austin-Healey, there’s an expanded Open category which promises to bring several ‘mystery’ cars to the event.

As usual, the three-day meeting comprises a Friday night welcome dinner and presentation of the road map, Saturday’s rally followed by a gala, prize-giving dinner in the evening, and the Sunday concours.

The latter, with its panel of knowledgeable, international judges is held in Via Serlas in St Moritz. In 2011, the Sunday Concours was supported by Jaguar Switzerland.
