Our 10 favourites from the Bonhams Zoute sale in Belgium

Coinciding with the fifth Zoute Grand Prix held in the Belgian seaside resort of Knokke-Heist, Bonhams will hold an auction with almost 40 hand-picked cars. Here we select our 10 favourites from the many tempting classics…

Nigel Mansell's Ferrari F40 under the hammer

For most, the highlight of the 11 October Bonhams auction will undoubtedly be the 1989 Ferrari F40 formerly owned by F1 hero Nigel Mansell, estimated to fetch €600,000-800,000. However, our personal favourite could be had for a tenth of that sum: a 1969 Maserati Mexico, estimated at €60,000-80,000. Supremely understated, and fitted with the desirable 4.7-litre V8 and rare automatic gearbox, this gentlemanly GT has covered fewer than 45,000 miles and remains in an original, unrestored condition.
