Bonhams at Goodwood: not just for millionaires

The two multi-million-pound lots at Bonhams’ Festival of Speed sale have understandably enjoyed the lion’s share of attention – but how about more modestly priced offerings? Here’s a glance at some of our favourites, all estimated to sell for less than £200,000...

Come auction day on July 12, two of the bluest of blue-chip cars will cross the block, in the form of the ex-Fangio W196 Mercedes and ex-Briggs Cunningham Maserati 300S. One notch down you’ll find an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 'Le Mans' Tourer (estimate GBP 1.4 to 1.8 million) and a Ferrari 500 Superfast (GBP 800,000 - 1 million), but the majority of bids will be on more modest machinery – such as those we’ve selected above.
